Family therapy and systemic practice research (FAMSYS)
The FAMSYS research group has a clear focus on practice and connection to the field of practice. The purpose of the research group is to strengthen research and knowledge development concerning couples, families, relationships, family therapy and systemic practice, but also on education within family therapy and systemic practice. We also focus on how organisations and users can interact with regard to relationship, communication and contextual aspects. In addition, the research group will actively seek to strengthen knowledge development regarding socio-economic and political conditions that affect couples, families and other relationships. Within the group there is experience and competence in research using qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods.
What are we researching?
The research is conducted in close collaboration with the field, and takes place within various practice areas such as healthcare, social work, child protection, family welfare, criminal justice, substance abuse services, the education sector and business. The research group also focuses on research into education within family therapy and systemic practice, related to issues of how the integration of theory, practice and research can contribute to professional development.
